Our design journey will be fine-tuned according to your individual needs and projects' scope. From full 'hard surface design (everything included in a home interior - from the plumbing fixtures, cabinets, interior stain, paint colors, lights, tile, flooring, etc. to the towel bars, to individual room remodels. 'Hard Finish' Design: for New Builds and reno
In interior design, 'hard surfaces' refer to the permanent, structural, and fixed elements of a home.
A great way to visualize this is to imagine picking your house up, turning it upside down, and shaking it aggressively - anything that stays solidly in place is a hard surface, whereas anything that fall out is a soft furnishing.
These fixes finishes and architectural features form the essential 'bones' of your space. Hard finishes form the foundational canvas of a home, establishing structure texture, rhythm, and enduring visual character.

New Build and
Renovation Interior Design:
Depending on your project; whether it be a full scope new build, large renovation, or room(s) by room renovation, I'll guide you through all steps, and selections needed. We typically begin with a call and consultation, where we discuss scope, contractor/builder, allowances, timeline and all other integral pieces of the journey ahead.
Design selections include as many or few as needed per project. Large projects include everything from plumbing fixtures, appliances, cabinets, countertops, hardware, all flooring materials, bathroom tile, stain and paint, beams, railing, window trim style, door style, wall and ceiling surfaces, lighting, bath accessories and mirrors, etc.
My role is linking the these elements and layouts together in such a way that creates an overall aesthetic that is effortlessly elegant, deeply personal, and is a joy to live within.
Getting Started and the Selections Process:
From initial consultation, as mentioned above, to concept and design development, through selections, ordering, tracking and installation, I am on board every step of the way. Just as each project is different, the inclusion and order of the building and selections process is custom made as well.
While collaborating with your contractor/builder, I'll be providing detailed specifications and clear communication in order to keep your project running smoothly and efficiently.
During the design and selections process, we'll approach things an a way that are most time efficient for your selection needs, and at the involvement level in which you prefer. Whether you are a hands-on selection maker, prefer to have selections presented to you based on my learned knowledge of your style and aesthetic, or, a little bit of both, we'll utilize your time well; and make this journey an enjoyable one!
About:
Crosslake is my favorite Minnesota town, and I'm lucky to have called it home for the better part of my of my life, as well.
My passion for interior design started at a young age. The idea of a career involving creativity, art and design, problem-solving and planning has always appealed to me; interior design encompasses all of those qualities , and so much more.
With a degree in Interior Design from the Minnesota Institute of Arts International in Minneapolis, I've been designing custom homes for nearly fifteen years.
My husband Larry, a licensed contractor, and I initially bonded over building and design, and it's been history ever since!
I've found my true calling in interior design and am fortunate to have been able to build my career around it.
